Fair Advertising Policy
The implementation of fair advertising and responsible marketing policies at BTN is regulated through a number of Special Policies (KK) that govern marketing communication activities and customer protection. BTN ensures that all marketing, promotional, and public communication materials are prepared and delivered with due consideration to legal aspects, compliance, reputation risk management, educational elements, and the principle of transparency to customers.
Through KK.9-Y on Marketing Communication and Community Activities, BTN stipulates that the use of logos, brands, talent, songs, and other digital assets must comply with legal aspects, including copyright and intellectual property provisions. In addition, all marketing communication activities must be coordinated with relevant work units, including risk management, legal, compliance, and marketing communication functions, to ensure that campaigns are conducted responsibly, are not misleading, and maintain the Bank's reputation.
The principle of responsible marketing is also directly related to customer protection, as stipulated in KK.9-Z concerning Customer and Community Protection, which contains the basic principles of customer protection, including adequate education, information disclosure, responsible business conduct, and customer data protection. This provision serves as the basis for BTN in ensuring that marketing activities are not only sales-oriented but also focused on the interests and understanding of customers.
In practice, the implementation of fair advertising and responsible marketing at BTN covers several key aspects, including all marketing communication materials must undergo a verification process from a legal, compliance, and risk perspective before being published; marketing activities must take into account cybersecurity aspects by ensuring that the media and channels used are secure and in accordance with Bank standards; BTN is required to provide clear, transparent, non-misleading, and adequate information as part of consumer education and protection; and promotional programs and marketing campaigns are evaluated periodically to ensure their effectiveness and compliance with applicable regulations.
Through the implementation of these provisions, BTN ensures that marketing activities not only support the achievement of business objectives but also uphold ethics, maintain public trust, and comply with the principles of good corporate governance, including compliance with sharia principles where relevant to sharia products and services.
