PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has firmly integrated its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework into its core operations by hosting the "BTN Run for Disabilities, Run for Inclusivity." Held at the Manahan Stadium in Solo, the high-profile sporting event saw corporate leaders running side-by-side with celebrated paralympic athletes. The gathering drew key public figures, including Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Solo Mayor Respati Ardi, BTN Risk Management Director Setiyo Wibowo, and National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Indonesia Deputy Secretary General Rima Ferdianto.
Serving as an official pre-event milestone for the upcoming BTN Jakarta International Marathon (BTN Jakim) 2026, the initiative reinforces the lender's strategic evolution toward becoming a fully inclusive banking institution. The management emphasized that ESG principles at BTN are no longer treated merely as traditional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) targets, but are instead treated as the fundamental guiding values deeply embedded within the bank's daily business processes.
Recognizing running as a universally accessible sport that naturally embraces everyone, including individuals with disabilities, BTN leverages this athletic platform to mirror its broader financial philosophy. The bank's long-term commitment to inclusivity manifests not only through accessible financial services designed to reach every layer of society but also through tangible, structural support for sports, healthcare, and the sustainable empowerment of the disabled community.
Through the rollout of this event, the bank highlighted that its institutional mandate extends far beyond its legacy housing finance portfolio. BTN remains actively focused on driving the broader health, inclusivity, and socio-economic welfare of the Indonesian public. To mark the occasion, the financial institution officially handed over targeted aid to upgrade training facilities and infrastructure for paralympic athletes. Looking ahead to the main marathon, BTN will sponsor 10 runners with disabilities to compete in the main BTN Jakim event, while simultaneously spearheading a massive fundraising campaign backed by tens of thousands of participating marathon runners.
