PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN), alongside fellow State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia, is moving aggressively to fast-track the construction of Danantara Temporary Housing (Huntara) in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh. This concrete flood relief initiative was inspected firsthand by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday (1/1/2026) to ensure that the affected communities immediately secure decent and sustainable shelter.
Operating under the "BUMN Peduli" (SOE Cares) humanitarian umbrella, the project has demonstrated massive construction progress since breaking ground on December 24, 2025. The initial phase of 600 Huntara units is scheduled for official handover to the regional government on January 8, 2026, anchoring a grander target to complete 15,000 units over the next three months. During his inspection, President Prabowo Subianto highly commended the swift and stellar efforts of all involved parties, praising their exceptional responsiveness in alleviating the plight of the displaced residents.
The primary catalyst behind this rapid execution is the tight synergy within the State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara)—comprising BTN, Bank Mandiri, BRI, and BNI—alongside BSI. BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu reaffirmed the bank's absolute commitment to continuously supporting this infrastructure blitz to accelerate the normalization of life for flood-affected citizens in Sumatra. Alongside this, Danantara Indonesia’s leadership tier, namely CEO Rosan Roeslani and COO Dony Oskaria, emphasized that high execution discipline on the ground positions this project as a prime example of the strategic role SOEs play as an extension of the state, prioritizing humanitarian welfare over business interests.
Every Huntara unit is engineered to strict emergency decency standards, featuring secure structures, clean water access, proper sanitation, and integrated public facilities such as clinics, playgrounds, as well as complimentary electricity and internet access. Through this cross-sector collaboration, the government and SOEs are not merely providing temporary shelters, but are also poised to advance the recovery roadmap to the next phase, deploying various economic empowerment programs to revitalize the livelihoods of the local community.
