JAKARTA – PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN), in collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government, once again presents the prestigious marathon competition BTN Jakarta International Marathon (BTN JAKIM) 2025, carrying the 4S concept: Sterile, Secure, Safety, and Smooth. The company is ready to host this international-scale event as part of efforts to promote Jakarta as a global sports destination.
Held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, starting from the Monas intersection and finishing inside Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Senayan, the annual BTN JAKIM 2025 marathon invites more participants from Indonesia and abroad, reaching a total of 30,000 runners—double last year's figure. Participants come from 51 countries, with 600 of them being foreign nationals.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the Provincial Government has ensured full support for the implementation of BTN JAKIM 2025 to ensure a more organized event. He noted that Jakarta will host more international events in the future beyond BTN JAKIM.
“The most important thing is to maintain the already high public participation. Therefore, I strongly ask for full support so that BTN JAKIM 2025 can be more comfortable and well-organized, especially with the addition of the word ‘Smooth' to complete the 4S concept this year,” said the Governor during the BTN JAKIM 2025 Launch Press Conference at City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Monday, April 14, 2025.
The Governor also expressed hope that the competition will be held regularly so that when Jakarta celebrates its 500th anniversary in 2027, the city can host a Platinum-certified international marathon recognized by World Athletics. According to World Athletics' marathon label classifications, cities with Platinum label marathons include Berlin Marathon in Germany, Chicago Marathon and New York City Marathon in the United States, and Amsterdam Marathon in the Netherlands.
On the same occasion, BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu stated that BTN has long been committed to the health and welfare of the Indonesian people. With a commitment to ensuring security, comfort, and smooth race operations, Nixon believes this marathon will attract greater international attention to Jakarta as a global sports destination.
“This is a fun event for Jakarta, as participants come from various countries. Secondly, there is an economic impact—hotels along Sudirman and Thamrin were fully booked during last year's BTN JAKIM. In addition, public transportation such as MRT and Transjakarta operates early in the morning to transport runners, ensuring seamless connectivity from Monas (the starting point),” said Nixon.
He further explained that BTN JAKIM is designed around three key aspects: economic impact, entertainment, and education on healthy lifestyles. BTN has also prepared various Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) programs to support sports communities, improve sports facilities, and promote urban greening initiatives in Jakarta.
“One word I can use to describe BTN JAKIM is ‘solidarity.' The Jakarta Provincial Government is highly professional, cohesive, and enthusiastic, allowing residents to enjoy the event with great excitement. Even at the finish line inside GBK Stadium, many participants said ‘wow,' as they had never experienced finishing directly inside our iconic stadium,” Nixon added.
Meanwhile, Satrio Guardian, Race Director of IM Road Runner, the organizer of BTN JAKIM 2025, said the event is a game changer, as there has never been a marathon event in Indonesia that is fully sterilized from vehicle traffic with more than 30,000 participants.
“This requires tremendous effort. Without support from the Provincial Government and sponsors, it would not be possible. So far, we have collaborated with relevant stakeholders, including city mayors and local residents,” said Satrio.
Balé by BTN Promotions at BTN JAKIM 2025
The enthusiasm of participants and the public for BTN JAKIM 2025 has positively impacted transaction growth on Balé by BTN since the event preparation series began in December 2024 under the “Road to Jakarta International Marathon 2025” campaign.
Privileges offered include early bird ticket discounts, up to 7% discounts on regular tickets, special ticket prices of only Rp1, free tickets through customer referral programs, and on-the-spot bonus tickets at the Tanah Abang event.
During the period from December 2024 to March 2025, BTN recorded an addition of more than 300,000 new Balé by BTN users. Compared to BTN JAKIM 2024, this represents a 48% year-on-year increase in new users. Meanwhile, Balé by BTN transaction value reached nearly Rp30 trillion, surging 113% year-on-year compared to last year's event.
Nixon stated that all promotional programs and benefits offered during BTN JAKIM 2025 are designed to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for participants and the public.
