Jakarta, August 7, 2025 – PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) officially launched the BTN Digital Store at the office building of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI) in Senayan, Jakarta, as part of its effort to provide more efficient services to customers through digital innovation.
With the launch of the BTN Digital Store at the DPR-RI Building, the number of BTN Digital Stores has increased after the first one was established at Menara 2 BTN Kuningan, Jakarta, replacing the old branch office. The BTN Digital Store at the DPR-RI Building is equivalent to a Sub-Branch Office (KCP) that is ready to serve employees and stakeholders within the DPR-RI environment.
The launch of the BTN Digital Store at the DPR-RI Building was attended by Deputy Speaker of DPR-RI Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, Chairman of Commission XI DPR-RI Mukhamad Misbakhun, Secretary General of DPR-RI Indra Iskandar, BTN management, and strategic partners.
In his remarks, BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu said that the BTN Digital Store at the DPR-RI Building is concrete proof of BTN’s efforts to provide the best and most innovative services to customers, in line with the company’s transformation, including the development of technology and digitalization of services to create a better customer experience.
“BTN Digital Store is a real example of future services that are effective, efficient, digital-oriented, and secure. This initiative answers customers’ needs for services that are fast, practical, and modern,” Nixon said on Thursday (7/8).
Nixon explained that the BTN Digital Store is more efficient in terms of time and operations compared to regular branch offices. For example, opening a savings account only takes three to five minutes, much faster than the average 20 minutes at a regular branch, and can be done independently by customers using their ID card (KTP) and the BTN ATM/debit card customization machine.
“So there is no longer a customer service desk or teller. Customers simply insert their ID card into the customization machine, which will read the data from the Population and Civil Registration Office (Dukcapil). There will still be one staff member on standby at the BTN Digital Store, whose function is only to assist or help if any issues arise,” Nixon explained.
On the same occasion, Secretary General of DPR-RI Indra Iskandar said that the presence of the BTN Digital Store answers the needs of the DPR-RI environment for modern and adaptive institutional support services to improve the efficiency of state institutional work.
Indra added that BTN’s commitment deserves appreciation as it aligns with the spirit of bureaucratic reform and public service transformation currently being promoted across government institutions.
“The BTN Sub-Branch Office within the DPR-RI environment is expected not only to facilitate physical access for customers but also to serve as a gateway to broader digital services, covering various transactions, information, and financial solutions needed by employees within the DPR-RI environment,” said the Secretary General of DPR-RI.
Going forward, BTN and the DPR-RI Secretariat General are expected to continue developing other collaborations, including financial literacy programs, employee welfare initiatives, and digital transformation that support a clean and accountable bureaucratic ecosystem.
With a paperless transaction concept and streamlined services, the BTN Digital Store provides the Living City feature for mortgage (KPR) applications. In addition, the BTN Digital Store ensures transaction security through fingerprint verification, identity confirmation, and One-Time Password (OTP) verification via email and SMS.
Conversion of Regular Branch Offices into BTN Digital Stores
Following the successful establishment of the BTN Digital Store at the DPR-RI Building, Nixon said BTN remains committed to achieving one of its digital transformation targets, namely converting around 18 to 20 regular branch offices into BTN Digital Stores.
With this change, BTN ensures that employees who previously worked in regular branch offices will still have opportunities to shift their skills to other areas.
“Until 2029, we will continue to recruit employees. There will be no reductions (due to BTN Digital Store) because we are only conducting realignment and position shifts. For example, frontliners will transition into sales staff or relationship managers, and we are currently training them. We are also establishing a Sales Academy to support this initiative,” Nixon concluded.
