Through the annual BTN Housingpreneur 2025 competition, architects, developers, entrepreneurs, and students now gain direct access to the national housing ecosystem of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. The event serves as a platform for exchanging ideas as well as an entry point into a business network connecting developers, material suppliers, technology players, and prospective homebuyers. BTN Risk Management Director Setiyo Wibowo stated that the housing industry still faces major challenges in linking parties that are often not yet connected, such as developers with quality products who have not found buyers or consumers who still unsure how to find the right home. He delivered this explanation during the BTN Housingpreneur Roadshow at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) on Thursday (6/11/2025).
BTN positioned this competition as a collaborative avenue to support the development of innovative housing-sector ideas into sustainable businesses. Winners will receive access to BTN’s ecosystem, including guidance to ensure their ideas are not only creative but also bankable and capable of generating economic value. Selected participants will also have opportunities to engage with major developers, meet potential buyers, and join a three-month incubation program to transform their concepts into efficient, profitable, and bankable ventures.
ITB Vice Rector for Finance, Planning, and Development, Agus Jatnika Effendi, emphasized that cross-disciplinary collaboration is essential in addressing national housing issues. He noted that the competition is relevant to students from various fields, as housing challenges cannot be solved by civil engineering alone. This year, BTN Housingpreneur targets 1,500 participants with ideas related to housing technology, energy and water efficiency, waste management, and digital platforms such as marketplaces for construction materials and services. The total prize pool reaches IDR 1.5 billion. Bandung was selected as a roadshow location because West Java contributes around 40 percent of national housing needs and is a key growth center for the housing sector. After Bandung, the roadshow will continue to Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Medan, and Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) Makassar.
