PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has officially strengthened its role as a regional development partner through a comprehensive cross-sector collaboration with the Samosir Regency Government. Aligning with the broader mandate to reinforce the state-owned enterprise (SOE) ecosystem under the Danantara (Daya Anagata Nusantara) umbrella, this strategic initiative is engineered to revitalize tourism, empower MSMEs, enhance healthcare services, and digitalize local bureaucracy across the Lake Toba Super Priority Tourism Destination.
Secured through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a series of Cooperation Agreements (PKS), the partnership anchors BTN’s ongoing "Beyond Mortgage" corporate transformation. The lender is aggressively pivoting from its legacy housing-focused model into a holistic financial solutions provider for local governments, business sectors, and the general public. Notably, over the past two years, BTN has successfully established similar strategic development alliances with approximately 58 regencies and cities across Indonesia.
To drive local economic empowerment, BTN is expanding access to productive financing for Samosir's MSMEs through the People's Business Credit (KUR) and Property Program Credit (KPP) schemes. This initiative is further bolstered by an interest subsidy program funded by the Samosir Regency regional budget (APBD), which offers local entrepreneurs a maximum ceiling of Rp100 million with a three-year maturity period. Fast-tracked and finalized within a single month, this stimulus package is designed to help local small businesses scale up through transaction digitalization.
Beyond economic metrics, the collaboration targets the digital overhaul of public services and the healthcare ecosystem at RSUD Dr. Hadrianus Sinaga, spanning integrated transaction systems, payroll solutions, QRIS merchant onboarding, and investment financing for medical equipment. Furthermore, BTN is working alongside the Samosir Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) to optimize regional financial management. The bank is also exploring a tourist-zone waste management program with local universities, promoting signature local commodities like coffee and traditional woven fabrics (tenun) at national exhibitions, and spearheading human capital development initiatives.
